The Bayou Environmental Justice Coalition aims to make a lasting impact in communities that are underserved and overburden with disparity. Our initiatives and activities are designed to represent true transformation. We strive to bring meaningful and transferable skills to those most impacted. Above all, passion is at the heart and soul of everything that we do by meeting the community where they are at.

Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in the actions of our initiatives. From the moment we started our work, we understood the assignment. By working together, we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently. ​ BEJC promotes equitable access to a clean and healthy environment for communities. BEJC provides education programs, community engagement opportunities, and collaboration with local government, stakeholders, and investors. We bring resources, workforce development, renewable energy skills preparation, and practices to marginalized and underserved communities.

Knowledge is power. We empower communities by proving various avenues of learning that are multigenerational. Our learning pathways are designed around each communities specific needs. No community should be left behind.
Underserved communities have been left behind. We educate communities to assist in training that is transferrable in and outside the home environment. We meet the community where they are academically and social emotionally.

BEJC works with communities to find equitable solutions to the burden of high utility cost. It is time to move our communities into equitable renewable energy practices. All communities should be afforded clean air, water, and land. We provide resources and real solutions to energy burdens, that disproportionately effect low income communities.

Health and well being is a necessity. BEJC works with communities to bring healthy practices that will fuel the mind, body, and soul. The work starts from within.
Community Preservation
In a world that is evolving rapidly, it is essential that communities preserve their history. All children deserve to know where they got their greatness from! All communities should be afforded equitable resources, and the opportunity for generational wealth. We provide training and workshops that help guide the pathways to success.
